The scope of the project, in addition to a new website, included a new logo, new color scheme, updated email newsletter design, as well as the expansion of website content. The Beaver County Chamber of Commerce wanted their website to promote the goals of their strategic plan, one of which was to provide their members with greater access to county resources through the website.
The new and improved website not only promotes the growth and modern views of the Chamber, but allows both current and potential members to easily find information on the site. The updated “Membership Directory” provides more business details for members, allowing them greater visibility on the web.
The homepage of the website provided the staff an area where they can create visibility for news and events through the use of a slideshow. The entire layout of the page is setup to provide a snapshot to the visitors of the more relevant parts of the site.
One of the features the staff will enjoy the most, is the ease in which the new site can be updated. In addition to the basic online access for making changes, the staff has been provided with a smartphone app allowing them to take photos of events and post them immediately, as well as create news stories on the go. This will make life easier for the staff, but will also serve its members well, as the site will be constantly dripping with up to date information.
